JoburgCAN exists to organise and empower a network of community associations and businesses, to ensure the responsible collection and use of rates and tax revenues, along with good service delivery by the City.
Inspired by OUTA’s approach, we aim for top-notch service in Johannesburg. We achieve this by exercising our rights, uniting communities, holding authorities accountable, and offering solutions for a better city.
We challenge policies, activate citizenry, and work with communities and authorities to enhance administration and service delivery in Johannesburg. Join us in our mission for a brighter future.
We look forward to partnering with them on this drive and future initiatives.
The LHRA took on the project of repainting the kerb street names!
Thank you to those residents who contributed directly to this project and to those who paid their subs, which enabled the LHRA to match the donations received and hence complete the project.
Over the past few years, the LHRA has been establishing a relationship with City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ) in response to the devastation that has happened to the trees of Houghton by the Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer (PSHB).
One of City Park’s plans to deal with the loss of these trees was to do mass planting in the areas affected by it. City Parks delivered over 600 trees to our suburb to be planted, known for their resistance to PSHB.
